PACER Access Restrictions
The Judicial Conference of the United States has amended its policy on privacy and public access to electronic case files by restricting public access through the PACER system to documents in bankruptcy cases that were filed before December 1, 2003, and have been closed for more than one year. The docket sheet and docket information can still be viewed for all cases in the PACER system. However, only parties in the case that established a party record using their unique ECF login account [typically not support staff accounts] will have access to papers filed in the case. All papers filed in such cases, except those under seal, will remain fully accessible at the clerks' offices.

This restriction to access occurred automatically with the court's upgrade to CM/ECF Release 4.2 on November 20, 2011. Access to documents in bankruptcy case appeals filed in the district courts, bankruptcy appellate panels, or courts of appeals for bankruptcy cases filed in the bankruptcy court prior to December 1, 2003, is similarly restricted. If you require assistance please contact the appropriate divisional office.

To electronically file documents or to pay filing fees, please enter your ECF login and password issued by the court.

To review the court's docket or previously filed documents, please enter your PACER login and password issued by the PACER Service Center. PACER access fees of $.10 per page, as approved by the Judicial Conference of the United States, will be assessed. All inquiries will be charged to your PACER login account. The Client code is provided to the PACER user as a means of tracking transactions by client. This code can be up to thirty two alphanumeric characters long. If you do not have a PACER login, you must register with the PACER Service Center online at You may also register by calling 800-676-6856 or 210-301-6440.
